MCDONNELL DOUGLAS F-4C PHANTOM II – The sight of an F-4…any F-4, is a reminder that I had the privilege of working on a magnificent fighting machine. While on active duty in the Air Force, I worked on the weapons systems of the F-4C, F-4D, and F-4E…and I had the “Phantom bites” on my back to prove it. I’m guessing that the Phantom would not stand much of a chance against today’s jet fighter aircraft in a dogfight but back in it’s day, the F-4 held its own against faster and more manuverable fighters.
These are really great shots. So impressed with the fact that there are no people to distract from the photos and the clarity of the photos. Perfect side on shots. They do an excellent job of documenting our air power history.
